Heeey friends, it\u2019s been quite a while since I popped in with an illustration. And I\u2019ve painted absolutely nothing in that time, ha! You know how good that feels?! hahaha \ud83d\ude00 Fingers, wrist, shoulder blade, neck, eyes\u2014and most of all the brain\u2014get to rest!<\/p>\n\n

\"Smiling<\/a><\/figure>\n\n

People often ask me: do you paint something every day? Do you take a sketchbook on holiday of course? No. Never. Honestly never. I\u2019m not a fundamentalist about it. As much as I love my job, I really like the pause from it too. I enjoy time for other things I love just as much. The break is so welcome creatively: you clear space and air in your head for new ideas. You get out of your own way. You shed the extra skin. And that is just so awesome. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n\n

Am I itching to get back to the brushes? No. Not yet. I\u2019m still comfy. Do I already have ideas for what I\u2019ll paint? Yes\u2014maybe 2\u20133. They\u2019re still processing and buffering somewhere at the back of my head. I\u2019ll definitely let you know when they materialise.<\/p>\n\n

So I\u2019m just waving to you now from a brick\u2011tinted snapshot and wishing you a lovely start to the new month. \u2764<\/p>\n\n
