I’ve already found myself sharing coffee with Andreja several times. If you ever wonder why the Mladinska knjiga bookshops feel genuinely cosy, it’s largely because of her. Look around and you’ll notice inviting little corners with armchairs, beautifully painted chandeliers, colourful shelves and all sorts of thoughtful details. Yep—Andreja. She came up with the idea to brighten the huge wall above the children’s and YA section in the Koper branch with a joyful illustration. I loved it immediately. I had complete freedom in execution. One association flowed into another and then a third, and what emerged is something cheerful, comforting, emotional, pleasant, warm, sparkly, a touch mysterious—and a little colourful too.
The space in the Koper branch has come alive. If you ever pass by with a spare moment, go see it in person and pick out something intriguing to read.
