Advertising bookmarks really used to get on my nerves. They were ugly, full of pointless content and splattered with random colours that jarred. The quality was flimsy—they curl, the edges fray. So I said to myself: “Why don’t I just make a bookmark for myself?” And I did.

I painted a cute little floral picture and mounted it on a nice white card. For the finishing touch I punched a tiny hole at the top and decorated it with a shiny satin ribbon. More than a year later it still delights me every time I pick up a book.
One idea leads to another, so I thought: “Why not make them for other people too?” And I did. That’s how these pretty bookmarks were born. Each one is unique and hand‑painted. I wanted everyone to be able to own an original piece of art that’s affordable and genuinely useful.
