An artistic getaway in Graz: My experience at Art Expo Graz
I spent last weekend, from 24 to 26 April, wrapped in the embrace of art, sunshine and new experiences. For the first time I tried my hand as an exhibitor at Art Expo Graz, and I will admit it — my Art Expo Graz exhibition experience sent me home with a full heart and a head brimming with new ideas.

Seifenfabrik: A venue with soul on the banks of the Mur
The exhibition unfolded in a truly one-of-a-kind setting — the old Seifenfabrik soap factory. Its industrial atmosphere, interwoven with a modern artistic pulse and sitting right beside the river Mur, created the perfect backdrop for a three-day celebration of art. The space breathed creativity and offered visitors a genuinely unique way to take in the works on show.

My exhibition space: Abstraction and illustration intertwined
This time I signed up at Art Expo for the exhibition side only, which was a new and precious step on my artistic journey. I showed 8 works, and I dared to experiment a little with the arrangement. I combined my abstract paintings with gentle illustrations. Although these are two different worlds, they complemented one another beautifully in theme and colour, and I was more than happy with the final look of the display.

More than just an exhibition: Three days of artistic charge
Art Expo Graz was not merely a static display of paintings. The whole event was charged with energy, with intriguing happenings running across all three days:
- Creative workshops and talks that broadened horizons.
- Artistic performances that brought together dance, music and live visual art.
- Musical experiences that made sure the sense of hearing was treated to its fill, too!
It was a proper “infusion” of art that fills your soul and feeds your inner child.

Charming Graz and a sunny getaway for two
Beyond the exhibition, I had the chance to truly get to know Graz for the first time. The city won me over completely! It is lovely, well kept, wonderfully art-minded and full of life at every turn.
I also made the most of the weekend to spend time with my husband. Together we explored the city’s hidden corners, treated our taste buds in local restaurants and walked the city the length and breadth of it. The weather was downright dreamy — sunshine and warm temperatures made sure this artistic weekend was truly perfect.

A thank you
Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit me at my exhibition space — your support and encouraging words mean the world to me. A special thank you goes to the AAMI team for yet another flawless bit of organising and the chance to be part of this wonderful story.
Graz, I will most certainly be back!
