At the invitation of art critic Calogero Cordaro, at the start of September I packed up my paintings, hopped on a train and headed to Venice.
It is always lovely to go to Venice – even with no particular reason. Good wine, good food and a walk among living art… and this time I had one more reason.

In the first week of September I exhibited my works at Palazzo Pisani Revedin as part of the Venice Biennale. It was a beautiful experience and an even more beautiful exhibition – I am happy I could be part of it.

I exhibited three works, reproduced on canvas and further enriched by hand with gold painting.
- My first choice was the illustration Pond – my favourite because it best describes what is going on in my head and my general mood. I simply had to bring it.
- In addition I chose Mountains and Butterfly from the series Lullaby for Lili.

The Butterfly illustration also graced the cover of the international magazine ArteComunica, which published a feature about my work and me as an artist. I am really proud of that – it is a lovely feeling to see your work in such a context.
All three pieces will soon be available in the online shop – as soon as they return from Italy.

Of course the visit to Venice did not pass without culinary highlights: good pasta, seafood, tiramisu, a cannolo or two and coffee on every corner. Not to mention the gelato.
Sometimes I feel I go to Italy just to eat well – the paintings are then only a pleasant excuse for the trip. 😛
