Let all these fairytale escapades mingle. And there we go – bacchanalia again. It’s always bacchanalia! 😀

Over the past six years quite a few wonderful stories have emerged from the hands of amazing women. Each with her own mission. And heaven knows why, but at some point they all apparently wandered off, hit a rough patch and—thank goodness—ran into me so I could save them! 😛

Together we refined their gentle, mischievous, wise, silly, sad and sensitive characters and adventures—pulled them out of abstraction and breathed visual souls into them. They all became colourful. Because without colourful characters there’s no real bacchanalia, hello!

Sometimes I felt low when a project ended. As an illustrator you hang out with these invented people for quite a while (please, please don’t let anyone diagnose me with schizophrenia). Then in a moment you hand them over. And even though they’re yours, they’re no longer really yours. They go out into the world—among children and adults—onto walls, shelves, into kindergartens, libraries, schools or into scrap paper for the fire. Whatever happens. Sometimes you spot one somewhere and smile warmly, “Heh, I know that one…” Then you move on— a bit nostalgic, a bit proud, a little jealous, never indifferent.
Now after six years all these characters have already met each other—on shelves and at events, in playrooms and classrooms. They’ve stared from the left corner of a room to the right, suspiciously noting why their eyes and trouser patterns look so alike. And why on earth do they always squeeze in among those silly flowers?! They figured they probably come from the same village, so they decided to go back there together—to see what’s what, and whether the cows really just graze on grass or if there’s a silage conspiracy! Off they went. Together. To bacchanalia.

And they came. To the bacchanalia! So now, dear ones, you’ll find all these characters gathered in one spot—my little village—on the Zoki.art site. No cows fed on silage there, only neat English golf grass 😛 Together with the authors I set up a special tab – KNJIGE (BOOKS) – where our characters meet and make merry. Have your own mini bacchanalia while choosing among them; they are genuinely delightful in every respect! Check here

TIP: Stories we create for others are some of the most wonderful gifts. Picture books have an even more special status—they carry extra colour, emotion, imagery and sensitive child characters. Let your gifts be treasures with substance, not silage‑powered cows 😛 Which picture books are already in the shop?
