Yes, it’s true – it took me quite a while to pull together the second portrait in the Mične Cvetične series, this time about Andreja Žolger. What can I say, we’re not all made for everything… some people can bake perfect potica, while I write blog posts in a rhythm as if a lunar eclipse were dictating them. But hey – what matters is that they exist, not when they appear. 😁
This time I’m introducing Andreja Žolger. I met Andreja at Mladinska knjiga, where she looks after merchandising (in plain words – making sure the shops look lovely and stocked with exactly what you hope to find). That was also the moment Mladinska knjiga decided to take my greeting cards into their range. Right from the start she saw potential in my motifs and, when she was refurbishing the MK branch in Koper, they hired me to paint a little book corner mural (photo below). Of course it turned out insanely beautiful!

From then on Andreja made sure the branches were always stocked with my designs – so if you ever spotted them on the shelves, you can send your thank‑you note to her.
But I don’t admire Andreja only as a top‑notch merchandising wizard. To me she’s one of those women I adore endlessly – a true doer. Whatever she imagines, she brings to life. No dithering, no “one day I’ll do it” – she knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. Strong women who can laugh while quietly moving mountains are my favourite kind of people.
Painting sessions and creative little moments

We also bonded through painting – Andreja came to my art workshops where we painted flowers together. I think she really enjoyed it too (even if it wasn’t without my “just tweak this bit here” comments, haha).
When a shop window becomes a feast for the eyes
This year she pulled off another BOOM! When the new Mične Cvetične collection launched for shops, stationers and all the lovely places, she and the Mladinska knjiga team made sure we created a display on Čopova Street in the centre of Ljubljana that became a tiny floral explosion. And it wasn’t just a display – it was a little feast for the eyes. I’m endlessly grateful to her for that.

In the end I have to say I’m incredibly happy and grateful to know her. We never walk through life alone – those who say they do are fibbing. I’m glad that every now and then I get to walk part of my path alongside Andreja. 🌸
Andreja, thank you. For every flower, display, greeting card, book corner and – most of all – for your friendship. 💛
