I met Marilyne on Instagram as well. An odd platform — it can get on my nerves, yet it’s connected me with so many fascinating people and partners who have since become friends; we still happily chat long after the formal collaboration ends.
Marilyne lives in Texas, originally from Kenya, and absolutely adores elephants — she’s even adopted two there. She began with a blog about their lives, especially highlighting the issue of poaching. That gradually led her to open a small online shop of elephant‑themed goods. A portion of every sale is directed to conservation of the species.
Marilyne reached out for an elephant illustration in my style. I created a tender scene of a mother and calf embraced by flowers. The motif appears on notebooks, mugs, bottles and other mindful items. I’m glad I could contribute to her mission.
