The Transgeneracije festival celebrates young people and contemporary artistic practices. It takes place every April at Cankarjev dom, spanning theatre, video production, comics and fine art. Secondary school students from across Slovenia explored society’s perceptions in diverse, insightful and often humorous ways—reshaping accepted concepts and prompting us to question and reflect on them.
That year I was honoured to be invited to serve as selector for the fine art section. I had to choose from around seventy strong works from different secondary schools and curate them into a cohesive exhibition narrative. A handful of outstanding pieces stood out even further and their authors received special awards.
