Recently I showed you this delightful music notebook and several of you asked where to find this cheerful little treasure, so here’s a quick introduction.
‘Why Do Little Bears Love the Flute’ is a sheet music notebook with 12 flute pieces and piano accompaniment, written for the youngest learners by flute teacher Nada Krajnčan Šušteršič of the Kočevje Music School. It’s intended for children in the first three years of primary school.
Nada’s idea was to brighten that dry white landscape of black lines and dots, offering children a visual doorway before they dive into reading the notation.
I contributed six illustrations; the other six pieces the children illustrate themselves, adding an interactive layer. Such a lovely, well‑rounded concept — I’m happy to have had a hand in it.
